North Carolina to Texas Car Shipping
Door-to-door auto transport from Raleigh, Cary, Durham, Charlotte and the rest of North Carolina to Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio and the rest of Texas. Our records show a median of 2 to 3 days once loaded.
North Carolina to Texas car shipping, in Neptune Auto Transport’s records, starts in the Research Triangle more than anywhere else. Raleigh, Cary, Morrisville and Durham supplied almost four in ten pickups, the highest Triangle share of any North Carolina lane we track. Charlotte was close behind at three in ten. Houston took 35 percent of deliveries, Dallas-Fort Worth 30, and San Antonio and Austin together one in five. If you are moving from North Carolina to Texas, the median trip took 2 to 3 days once loaded.
Moving from the Triangle and Charlotte to Texas
Two metros did most of the sending. The Research Triangle supplied 38 percent of pickups: Raleigh, Morrisville and Cary above all, plus Durham, Holly Springs and Fuquay-Varina. The Charlotte region supplied 30 percent: Charlotte, Huntersville, Indian Trail, Pineville and Kings Mountain. Cary to Plano came up twice, and Triangle cars went to Houston more often than to Dallas.
Our records show where cars went, not why people moved. What they do show is a lane of everyday vehicles, with pickups spread across the year. For NC to Texas car shipping, a few days of flexibility on the pickup date helps.

Before your North Carolina pickup
Pickups in our records were spread across the year. A few steps before the carrier arrives keep pickup day simple.
- Give us a few days of flexibility around your pickup date for a wider choice of carriers.
- Take out your NC Quick Pass or E-ZPass, so tolls on the way aren’t charged to you.
- Keep personal items light and below the window line, as our packing guide explains.
- Photograph the car and keep the Bill of Lading until it is delivered in Texas.
How we measured it
These shares and times come from Neptune Auto Transport’s records of North Carolina to Texas orders placed from August 2022 to August 2026, leaving voided orders out. Areas group ZIP codes by their first three digits, and four small North Carolina areas are combined here as the rest of the state. Transit is counted from loading to delivery, and every shipment on this lane had both dates. Lane comparisons use our busiest lanes, and percentages are rounded to 100. No order, customer or address is shown, and nothing on this page promises a price or a delivery date.
