North Carolina to Florida is the shortest of Neptune Auto Transport's route lanes into Florida, and in our records the quickest to deliver: about three in four cars were delivered the day after the carrier collected them. Why North Carolina to Florida is so quick

Distance, mostly. Charlotte to Jacksonville is about 380 miles, Charlotte to Orlando about 525, and Charlotte to Miami about 730. Raleigh to Miami is about 810. That is one long driving day, or a day and a morning, for a carrier, compared with three or more from New England or Texas. Charlotte loads typically head south on I-77 and I-26 to meet I-95 in South Carolina; Raleigh, Fayetteville and eastern loads are on I-95 almost from the start.

It is also a through lane. Carriers bound for Florida from New York, New Jersey and Virginia cross North Carolina every day, so a North Carolina car can often join a truck that is already heading south with space on the deck.

How long does it take to ship a car from North Carolina to Florida?

Based on our historical shipment data for this lane, the median loaded transit time was 1 day, meaning delivery the day after pickup. About three in four completed shipments arrived the next day, and 98 percent within 1 to 2 days. That held across the state: Charlotte, Raleigh-Durham, Triad and western North Carolina pickups all had a one-day median, and so did deliveries into South Florida.

Pickup across North Carolina

The Charlotte area, including Gastonia and Concord, supplies the largest share of pickups, with Raleigh-Durham second. Western North Carolina, from Hickory to the mountains, is a meaningful 14 percent. Mountain pickups on steep or narrow roads may need a meeting point closer to I-40 or US-321 where a full-size carrier can turn; the driver agrees that with you in advance. South Florida takes the largest share. Daytona and the Space Coast take 12 percent, a larger share than on our Texas, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania or Michigan lanes, which fits the short run down the Atlantic coast on I-95. Greater Orlando and Tampa Bay follow.

How much does it cost to ship a car from North Carolina to Florida?

We have not published a price band for this lane yet. Fewer than twenty cars and SUVs were picked up on it in the last two years, too few for a range we would stand behind. It is one of the shorter interstate lanes we run, and short lanes generally cost less in total than long ones, though not proportionally less per mile, because loading, unloading and the pickup and delivery legs cost the carrier the same whatever the distance.

What moves the price from North Carolina to Florida:

• Your end of the state. An I-95 pickup in Raleigh or Fayetteville is on the main southbound corridor. A mountain pickup needs a carrier willing to leave it.
• Where in Florida. From Charlotte, Jacksonville is about half the distance of Miami.

In our records, September to December was the busiest third of the year, with 40 percent of pickups, ahead of May to August with 33 percent and January to April with 28 percent. These insights come from aggregated Neptune Auto Transport records for 43 North Carolina to Florida shipments collected between July 2022 and August 2026, excluding voided orders. Percentages are rounded to the nearest whole number and may not total exactly 100. Pickup and delivery areas are grouped by postal region. Transit figures use only shipments with a confirmed pickup and delivery date, measured from the day a carrier collects the vehicle to the day it is delivered; one record with the same pickup and delivery date was excluded. No individual shipment, customer, address or price is shown, and none of these figures guarantees a future price or delivery time.
