Why spend two long days driving south each season, or put thousands of miles on your car, when Neptune can ship it for you? Our snowbird auto transport moves vehicles between northern homes and warm-weather destinations on a schedule that fits your migration.

Skip the drive, enjoy the season

If you spend the winter in Florida, Arizona, the Carolinas, Texas or the Gulf Coast and the rest of the year up north, that round trip can mean four exhausting days of driving a year, hundreds of dollars in fuel, hotels and meals, and a lot of wear on your vehicle.

Shipping your car instead lets you fly comfortably to your destination and have your vehicle waiting when you arrive. Neptune specializes in these seasonal North–South moves, and we make the whole thing effortless.

Routes built for the seasonal migration

We ship the classic snowbird corridors all year: the Northeast and Midwest down to Florida, the upper Midwest and Mountain states to Arizona and Nevada, and many points in between. In our records, New York to Florida is the busiest lane into Florida, and about three in ten of our Florida deliveries start in the Northeast.

Popular routes include the Northeast to Florida, the Midwest to Arizona, and the Mid-Atlantic to the Carolinas and Gulf Coast. Wherever your winter home is, we likely run the lane. For the spring trip home, our Florida to Michigan page shows when Gulf Coast cars head north, and in which months. Going south, about one in five cars on our Indiana to Florida route went to Southwest Florida, Naples and Fort Myers included.

Cars are not the only thing that moves south for the season. We arrange boat transport and RV transport on the same corridors, and the carriers who can pull something wide or tall commit earliest, so those book further ahead.

When to book your snowbird shipment

In our records, snowbird season does not bring a surge of pickups. Of our pickups into Florida and Arizona, 15% came in October and November, the same share as on interstate lanes overall, and of those leaving the two states, 12% came in March and April, below the 15% across all lanes. Like most interstate moves, these lanes were busiest from June to August.

So book once your dates are set, give your specialist a pickup window of a few days rather than a single day, and if you travel the same route each year, plan both legs at the same time so the trip home is settled before you head south.

Door-to-door, carrier insured convenience

Our snowbird service is door-to-door: we pick your vehicle up at your northern home and deliver it to your seasonal residence, then reverse it in spring. Your car is carrier insured throughout, and you receive condition documentation at each handoff. No terminals, no hassle, no long drive.

Once you ship instead of drive, it is hard to go back.
