Start with the row for your Texas city. We have no recent figures for vans, so a Sprinter or a minivan is quoted on its own.

Prices move, so read the table as recent history rather than a quote. The final number depends on the pickup and delivery addresses, the vehicle, your timing and the carriers running northeast that week; ours arrive free and all-inclusive.

Sprinter vans, pickups and SUVs: what rode to Maryland

Vehicles we shipped from Texas to Maryland, shipments picked up from January 2023 to August 2026
Vehicle typeShare of shipments
Cars and sedans45%
SUVs33%
Vans and pickup trucks22%

Cars made up 45% of the loads, from a Corolla and a Civic to a Tesla Model 3, a Mercedes C-Class and a Subaru WRX. SUVs made up a third, including a Mercedes G550, a Tesla Model X, a Range Rover and an Alfa Romeo Stelvio. Vans and pickups made up more than one in five: Mercedes Sprinter vans, a Ford E-150, a Toyota Sienna and a Ram 1500.

A full-size van or a high-roof Sprinter takes a specific spot on the trailer, so tell us the height and anything inside when you book. For the G550 or anything you would rather keep out of the weather, ask us to price an enclosed trailer. Most cars travel on an open carrier, which is what the price table describes.

The 60-day clock: Maryland plates for a Texas car

The Maryland MVA gives new residents 60 days to title and register a car brought from another state. Wait longer and you lose the credit for titling tax already paid in Texas and can be cited for out-of-state plates. Under its Plate Where You Live enforcement, cars with out-of-state tags get a written warning first and then daily fines.

Before the title appointment the car needs a Maryland Safety Inspection certificate from a licensed station; the separate emissions (VEIP) notice arrives in the mail after you register. Our Florida to Maryland guide walks through the inspection and VEIP steps in more detail. If you are in Maryland only for a while and keep your Texas residency, the MVA offers a nonresident permit instead.

Maryland to Texas: the move in the other direction

Our Maryland to Texas guide covers the opposite direction, which in our records has a clear spring season, with Prince George’s County and Southern Maryland supplying almost half the cars and a 3-day median. For other routes out of Texas, see our Texas auto transport page.

How we measured it

Our numbers on areas, timing and vehicles come from Neptune Auto Transport’s Texas to Maryland shipments picked up from January 2023 to August 2026, with voided orders removed. Each area is a set of ZIP codes sharing their first three digits, each trip is timed from loading to delivery, the comparison is with our other routes into Maryland, and shares are rounded to 100. The price table draws on a separate source, recent comparable shipments dispatched January to October 2026, and is not a quote. Nothing here names a customer or address or promises a price or date.
