Colorado to Texas Car Shipping
Door-to-door auto transport from Denver, Aurora, the Denver suburbs and the rest of Colorado to Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, San Antonio, El Paso and the rest of Texas. In our records the median trip took 2 days once the car was loaded.
Colorado to Texas car shipping is quick in Neptune Auto Transport’s records. A third of the cars arrived the day after pickup, and 94 percent within 3 days. Three in four started in Denver and its suburbs. Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth took a third each, and Dallas-area cars arrived a day sooner at the median. If you are moving from Colorado to Texas in winter, those pickups kept the same 2-day median.

Winter pickups and mountain towns
Winter did not slow the lane down: pickups from November to March ran the same 2-day median as the rest of the year.
A pickup in the mountains is different. Since 2025, Colorado requires commercial trucks to carry chains from September 1 to May 31 on more than 1,400 miles of mountain highway, including parts of I-70, US 285 and US 160, under its must-carry law. Carriers plan for it, but a storm can close a pass for a day. If your car is in Aspen, Fairplay, Durango or another mountain town in winter, give us a flexible date, or meet the carrier in Denver.
What Coloradans shipped to Texas
| Vehicle type | Share of shipments |
|---|---|
| Cars and sedans | 50% |
| SUVs and crossovers | 32% |
| Pickup trucks | 12% |
| Vans | 3% |
| Other | 3% |
Half were cars and a third SUVs. The vehicles ran older than on any other busy Texas lane: more than a third were model year 2010 or older, including a 1984 car and a 1987 pickup. One RV went from Evans to Sanger. If you ship an older or classic car, tell us whether it runs and drives, and consider enclosed transport.
Open or enclosed from the Front Range
An open carrier handles most Colorado to Texas auto transport at the lowest cost. Enclosed transport keeps a classic, a new car or a freshly detailed truck out of winter road grime and hail season, and it needs a few more days of notice. Our Denver auto transport page covers both options in the metro.
Before the carrier reaches your Colorado address
- Leave a few days of flexibility around your pickup date, so we can match the car with a carrier heading south.
- Tell us about a mountain address, a steep driveway or a gravel road, so we send a carrier that fits.
- Take out ski racks and loose gear if you can; light items below the window line are the most a carrier takes (our guide).
- Sign the Bill of Lading only after the walk-around, and photograph the car in daylight.

How we measured it
These figures summarize Neptune Auto Transport’s Colorado to Texas orders from July 2022 to August 2026, not counting voided orders. The first three digits of a ZIP code set its area. Transit is the number of days from loading to delivery, leaving out one record that showed delivery on the day of pickup. Seasons use the month the car was picked up. Comparisons rank this lane among our 75 busiest interstate lanes and the 18 busiest into Texas, with shares rounded to 100. No customer is identifiable, and no number here is a price or a promise.
