SUVs from Miami to Denver and Englewood, Tampa to Boulder and Pinellas Park to Aurora, along with runs from Weston, Jacksonville and Orlando, landed in the same $1,200 to $1,500 band, and two foothills deliveries to Evergreen fell inside it too. Most pickups ran $1,400 to $1,600.

We have no recent listings over the mountains to the Western Slope, so those trips are quoted one at a time. Prices move with fuel, weather and how many trucks head west, so read the table as recent history; your quote depends on the two addresses, the vehicle and the date. The cost calculator gives a quick estimate for any pair of ZIP codes.

Will your Florida tires meet Colorado’s Traction Law after delivery?

Once the car is yours again in Colorado, the state’s Traction Law may apply. From September 1 to May 31 it is in force on I-70 between Dotsero and Morrison, and CDOT can switch it on elsewhere in bad weather.

To drive those roads you need tires with at least 3/16 of an inch of tread plus a mountain-snowflake, all-weather or mud-and-snow (M+S) rating, or a four-wheel or all-wheel drive vehicle; otherwise chains or an approved traction device. Tires without one of those markings do not qualify, however well they did in Florida, so check the sidewall before your first trip into the mountains.

What paperwork does Colorado want for a car titled in Florida?

On a moving to Colorado checklist, the car takes three lines: title and registration, a VIN verification and, in some counties, an emissions test. Colorado gives new residents 90 days to title and register. If your Florida title is electronic and the car is paid off, have it printed on paper first: FLHSMV converts an e-title for $2.50 online, or $10 the same day at tax collectors that offer it.

If a lender holds the title, the Colorado DMV asks instead for your most recent Florida registration, current or expired less than six months, and the lienholder’s name and address. Every car from out of state also needs a VIN verification on form DR 2698, and an emissions test applies to cars more than seven model years old in the Denver-Boulder and North Front Range counties.

Mountain addresses, open or enclosed, and delivery day

A full-size carrier handles most Front Range streets, but a steep, narrow or unpaved mountain road may mean meeting the driver at a nearby lot, so tell us the address when you book. Winter storms can close mountain passes, which can delay a delivery over the Divide. An open carrier is the norm and what the prices above describe; for a Cayenne or anything you want kept out of road grime and winter spray, enclosed auto transport costs more.

How we measured it

The shares, medians and vehicle mix come from Neptune Auto Transport’s Florida to Colorado shipments picked up from February 2023 to July 2026, 22 orders with two voided ones left out. Areas group ZIP codes by their first three digits, trips are timed from loading to delivery, and shares are rounded to 100. We have too few orders on this route to confirm a busy season, so none is claimed here. The prices are from a separate source, recent comparable shipments dispatched February to October 2026, and are not a quote.

The assigned carrier’s cargo insurance covers it for the trip: we use carriers with at least $100,000 of cargo coverage, usually $100,000 to $250,000, and find one with higher limits for a more valuable car. You get the carrier’s certificate of insurance.
