No pickup-truck range is published here: the recent listings came from a single shipper, so a specialist prices a pickup on its own. Everything above is recent history, not a quote; yours follows your two addresses, the vehicle and the day you need it moved.
Queens, the Bronx and Long Island: where the trips started
| Pickup area | Share of pickups |
|---|---|
| New York City (Queens, the Bronx, Brooklyn) | 48% |
| Long Island | 30% |
| Hudson Valley, Westchester and the Southern Tier | 22% |
Almost half the cars left the city: four from Queens (Jamaica, Saint Albans, Springfield Gardens and Queens Village), four from the Bronx and three from Brooklyn. Long Island supplied seven, from Glen Cove and Freeport to Deer Park, Bay Shore, West Babylon, Central Islip and Ronkonkoma. The rest came from New Paltz, Suffern and Garnerville in the Hudson Valley, White Plains, and Nichols in the Southern Tier.

Lawrenceville to Jonesboro: the metro Atlanta addresses
| Delivery area | Share of deliveries |
|---|---|
| Gwinnett and DeKalb counties (Lawrenceville, Duluth, Lithonia and nearby) | 43% |
| The rest of metro Atlanta and Georgia | 57% |
Twenty of 23 cars went to metro Atlanta. Gwinnett and DeKalb counties took ten of them: Lawrenceville three times, Duluth and Lithonia twice each, and Snellville, Tucker and Decatur. The south side added Jonesboro twice, Riverdale and Stockbridge, and the rest went to Covington, Douglasville, Marietta, Sandy Springs, Rockmart and Atlanta itself. Only three left the metro, for Savannah, Columbus and Dublin.

The median trip took 2 days once loaded; 18 of 23 timed trips arrived within 2 days and all but one within 3. What happens to your New York plates when you move to Georgia?
Leaving New York has an order to it. The New York DMV wants your plates and registration surrendered before you cancel the car’s liability insurance, or it can suspend the registration and your license. You can mail the plates with form PD-7 in an envelope, without frames or stickers; the postmark counts as the surrender date, and an FS-6T receipt follows by mail. Update your address with the DMV first so the receipt reaches you in Georgia.
On the Georgia end, you have 30 days from the move to register at the County Tag Office, with a Georgia driver’s license first and a one-time title ad valorem tax of 3% of the car’s value for a new resident. Gwinnett, DeKalb and 11 other metro counties also require a Georgia emissions test before registration. Our North Carolina to Georgia route goes through the Georgia steps one by one.
Camaros, Camrys and an Escalade: what rode south
| Vehicle type | Share of shipments |
|---|---|
| Cars and sedans | 65% |
| SUVs and a pickup | 35% |
About two in three were cars: two Chevrolet Camaros, two Toyota Camrys, a Kia Stinger, an Infiniti G37 and a Lexus ES 300 among them. The SUVs ran from a Honda CR-V and a Mazda CX-5 to a 1997 Toyota 4Runner and a Cadillac Escalade, plus one Ford F-150. Open carriers handled these at the prices above. For a classic or a high-value car leaving a New York winter, enclosed auto transport keeps it covered for a higher price, and classic car transport covers older models.
Before pickup, take a portable E-ZPass out of the car or keep it in its bag, leave a quarter tank, and check the car with the driver against the bill of lading.
How we measured it
Our figures on areas, timing and vehicles come from Neptune Auto Transport’s New York to Georgia shipments picked up from June 2022 to June 2025: 23 orders, after leaving out two voided ones, the only records on this route since then. Each area groups ZIP codes by their first three digits, with Nassau County ZIP codes on Long Island; all 23 trips are timed from loading to delivery; shares are rounded to 100. The price table comes from a different source, recent comparable shipments dispatched from January to October 2026, and it is not a quote.
